Jonathan Ginat studied Industrial-Design at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield-Hills, Michigan.
In 1963 he began his career working as an industrial designer at Sundberg & Ferrar, an industrial design consultant firm. It was here where Ginat conceived the idea of the "six-pack" plastic can-holder-packaging.
