Jim Barefoot

Jim Barefoot was born and raised in North Carolina. He graduated from NCSU with a BS in Wood Science and Technology. After several years building dulcimers and banjos, Jim returned to NCSU and the School of Design for a Masters of Product Design.

After school, Jim won a scholarship to the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, which led to a position with Stendig developing the American Business Sofa series. Jim moved on to work at Brayton International for several years before opening his own Winston Salem studio in 1994. Clients include HBF, Gunlocke, KI, Paoli and Patrician.
