1952 

Burning of process wood waste for energy recovery. On-site renewable biomass energy accounts for almost 50% of our total annual energy consumption. The fuel supply comes from wood outfall collected during manufacturing that otherwise would end up in a landfill.

1960 

Land surrounding and owned by Gunlocke was used to farm and grow corn.

Plant ran new pipes to tie into a more sanitary sewer system.

Installed new combustion head on the Keeler boiler and a fly ash collector to enhance the burning of our falloff sawdust more efficiently and reduce the pollutants that are released into the air.
