My Dad's Legacy

My father was a patent and trademark lawyer for over 50 years. He died in 2000. He had two gunlocke guest chairs in his office. Just recently, I found the chairs in storage and had them reupholstered. Now, they grace my law office, and make me smile when I look at them, as I remember his insistence in a time when it was unusual, that as a girl I could be anything I wanted to be. "Don't be a nurse, be a doctor!" he said. Well, I followed in his footsteps instead.
